The Isle of Westland Railway

It's better by train.......

A look at - High Westland station

The station building is another Treddol Designs model. The low relief buildings as can be seen are 'work in progress'.

High Westland passenger station is currently under..........another........... rebuild. With it backing onto a fence a row of low relief buildings is being added to improve the scene. Over the years what was originally a small cramped station has expanded a lot.

Originally the station just occupied what is now the goods yard. This always caused disatisfaction to me as being too small. In real life evan a narrow gauge modest station takes up a lot of land and  so over the years the passenger side of the station has shifted to its present position. This is still not really large enough in my eyes but then there just is not the space to make it any larger.

The station has a passenger platform and run-round loop just long enough for four short coaches which form the usual branchline train. There are loco servicing facilities at the headshunt.

The goods yard has two sidings servicing a goods shed and loadng-bay platform.

The coal lorry is a 1/18 Soleido model repainted and detailed.

The goods shed is to the same design as that at High Westland with both beinh Treddol designs products. They are based on the shed at Llanuchlyn on the Bala Lake Railway which I know well from many years as a volunteer on the line.

Part of the road fleet lines up beside the goods shed. Solieido models.
Road fleet lorry. Another Soleido model.
Busy time in the yard.
